ART WORK FROM VINCE SUNICO OF SPENT PENCIL COMICS

Yes he is available for commissions ... contact him HERE!!

FANTASTIC 4 - Spiderman/ghostrider/ Hulk/ Wolverine mash up!

My interview with video/film director Tom Vujcic of REEL WOLF PRODUCTIONS....

Better late then never, I’m a busy guy and Tom is like 100 times more busy as I am…. But we made this happen.

I am a huge fan of La Coka Nostra and everyone involved, House of Pain, Slain and Ill Bill. Anxiously awaiting the release of ill bills newest album “Kill Devil Hills” I came across one of his newest videos “ILL BILL TV”

Right away I noticed the graffiti in the video… “I shot that, I filmed that!” I use to spend hours in all types weather filming and snapping pictures in these alleyways. Besides picking out graffiti, this video is grimy to the bone, which coincides with ILL Bill’s whole musical shabang.

I noticed the directors name, got on facebook, found him and strait up asked him if this was shot in Toronto.

He confirmed it, and I wasted no time in asking Tom for A Interview.

Keef – First off of, how did you land A video directorial for ill bills new album “Kill Devil Hills”?

Tom -I contacted Ill Bill online. He was coming to Canada for a tour. We’ve worked with various rappers within the underground rap scene; but Bill was one of the heavyweights. I’ve wanted to work with him not just because of the exposure; but also because I’m an Ill Bill fan and thought that the project would be exciting. His lyrics paint great visuals. I knew that the video would definitely stand out from other artists.

Keef - So what is the concept behind this great video?

Tom- The concept of the Ill Bill video was to have an adrenaline rushed action-packed shootout involving one man against numerous men in suits with masks. He goes through obstacles and engages in several gun battles which all end in bloodbath. The video is pretty violent but it's shown as very stylized violence. At the end it is revealed that the reason he was being hunted was because he had a copy of the Ill Bill DJ Muggs album. Once the video hit the net; I started reading different interpretations of the ending. There is an official meaning behind it but I would rather leave it open ended for the audience to interpret.

Keef - Who else have you worked with, and tell us about "REEL WOLF PRODUCTIONS"

Tom -Reel Wolf Productions is an independent film & video production company based out of Toronto. It was started in 2009 by me and my partner James Martin. James has also directed several videos for our company. We specialize mainly in music videos and short films. Our ultimate goal would be to make feature films. Music videos & short films are a great starting point for us to promote what we can do as filmmakers. We have worked with various artists. Other than Ill Bill & DJ Muggs we have also worked with other rap artists in the underground scene such as R.A. the Rugged Man from New York, Snowgoons from Germany, Lord Lhus from South Carolina & Riviera Regime from Toronto to name a few. We’ve also done a few non-hip-hop videos for rock and metal artists. This is something that we intend to do more of; so we can branch out and not just stick to one genre.

KEEF-What artist or group would you love to direct a video of?

Tom- There is so many artists in so many different genres that I would love to do a video for. If I were to pick one off the top of my head it would be for Serj Tankian. I was always a huge System of a Down fan; and I really loved his solo album. What I also liked is that he released a video for every song off of that album and each video was unique in its own way. They were all very powerful; some had strong social and political messages and some were just very obscure and quirky. He has a new album coming out so hopefully Serj reads this and considers me as a potential director haha!

Keef- How would some one go about contacting you in making a video

Tom- If you would like to contact us please email us at: info@reelwolf.com

However people have also contacted us through other online outlets such as MYSPACE,YOUTUBE, facebook etc.

Keef- You mentioned making feature films, what kind of film would you and partner James Martin like to make, genre wise ?

Tom -James and I are partners and share the same business ethic; but when it comes to film making we each have our own style and vision. We prefer that because it allows us to diversify our company. As for what kind of genres we would like to do. I think ultimately we would like to cover it all. There is not one genre that we would stick to since our influences stem from films of all decades and origins.

Keef - What is the best thing about Canadian Independent film, and what would you like to see more from it?

Tom -I love the Canadian Independent film scene because it's very open minded and our government really encourages the art of film making. There are several grants given out annually to film makers across the country to make art. My main frustration however is that no one sees our movies. I think the Canadian film scene should focus on investing money towards marketing/promotion. It's a shame when we have such great films coming out of this country and the furthest exposure that they get is within the indie scene.

Keef -What are your plans for 2010/2011?

Tom -For the remainder of this year we will be releasing several more music videos of all different genres. Our goal is to continuously outdo ourselves and in general put out videos that demonstrate our style as directors. Whether our budget is $10,000 or $500 we want to constantly challenge ourselves with what we can do. In 2011, we want to start pushing ourselves more towards the short film market. Be on the lookout for two short films we are producing which are set to be released next year.

Thanks Tom for taking time out of your busy schedule. I am loving the work you guys do, and so do many others.

"Time and Space" Miss Angie Feat. THE iDENTiTY CRiSiS official music video

This is the lead single/video from Miss Angie's upcoming third studio album "Time and Space". This collaboration is kind of surreal to me, considering I was a fan of hers as a kid, and here I am rapping on the title track for her come-back album. This track is co-produced by me and Jeremy Larson, who is a session keyboardist for Mute Math.

Hope y'all enjoy it...

My interview with the very hot and exotic actress...Veronika London.

Veronika London, Up and coming Hollywood Actress

In the span of about a year, Veronika London has seemingly come from being a no-one to being one of the fastest, hottest actresses shooting out of Canada into America mainstream after appearing in two TV- Series for “HBO” and “ SHOWTIME” . She broke all rules and threw out all the advice on how to manage her career with starting out being the "good girl" and instead went full edge. She says " I knew what I wanted from the beginning, I know what I can tap into internally, I know what I want". Not just another pretty face, London’s anticipated starring role as a heroin addict with amnesia in the Independent film” Jane Doe” and feature film “Black Eve” will sure be projects to keep an eye on, showcasing more than “pretty roles”. Maxim has placed her beauty on par with Megan Fox and Angelina Jolie in a spread in 2009, naming her “The Megan Fox of Hollywood North”

Keef -I don’t know if you been asked this but how do you feel being dubbed the “Megan fox of the North"? In my opinion I think you have a hell of lot more talent then she does. I think she looks like a mall chic, I think you look like you could jump off a moving car and kick a zombies head off.

Veronika -Haha that was an awesome statement! I do have the edge and hunger for danger, controversy and kicking butt when it comes on screen roles- it keeps things spicy.

As far as how do I feel about the whole “Fox dubbing” thing- It is what it is- It got me world wide exposure as an up and coming Hollywood actress. - “Show- Business “

Keef - So what is happening with "Burning Amber", I myself is very excited for this film because Paul Roberts and I went to school together and had many mutual friends. Can you tell us a bit about that movie and your part?

Veronika - Small world! The feature “Burning Amber” is in Pre-production and I have starring role in the project. Unfortunately, I can’t disclose much info on the project but keep your eyes open for some news coming up in the near future.

Keef -You were quoted for " breaking all rules and throwing out all the advice on how to manage your career with starting out being the "good girl" and instead went full edge". Do you break rules in your everyday life?

Veronika -Rules are guidelines, you don't have to follow them- but like all actions- their are consequences- The way I see it- If your super-objective consists or breaking some rules- it is what it is- next-

Keef - I am pretty sure we are going to be seeing you in A big budgeted movie soon... if so, what kind of movie would you love to do and who would you like to co-star with?

Veronika - I recently watched “The Last Exorcism”, I would love to play Ashley Bell’s role. I’m very much attracted to controversial disturbed roles or anything drug, raw “New York” style related. Other roles on my list include a female version of Heath Ledger’s role as Joker and something similar to Mila or Jolie style kicking butt. Dream co- star for a project- Al Pacino. I love the legends.

Keef- What is your opinion on Canadian films, I think we need more aggressiveness, films that are in your face! Also, what do you bring and hope to bring down the road to film and television?

Veronika -I think there is a lot of really good Canadian talent and films. It all comes down to marketing- you have to be aggressive, be in peoples faces. I find the Canadian mentality is very different than the states- we are modest, in the south people are more hungry for attention (more strategy, more marketing, more sales- more money)…hence more aggressive. It all comes down to your entrepreneurial business “blue print “.

I bring dimensional truth subtext to the projects I take on and attention. The goal is bring utter escapism.

Keef - So what is happening this September, tell us what this is all about...

Veronika -This fall I’ll be hosting Toronto Screamfest on September 23rd , 2010 at The Fox Theatre .Toronto Screamfest is the brainchild of Mike Klassen and partner Kyle Parry, who have put together an event for new and pro film makers to showcase their talent.

The night will be consisting of first time featured shorts, official shorts which are in the current festival circuit and the screening of Adam Green’s feature film “FROZEN” (Courtesy of Anchor Bay Entertainment). The night is sponsored by SKG Films, Film Army and the incredible people at Anchor Bay Entertainment!

Keef - 2011 is creeping, what does Miss London have in store for us?

Veronika - Release of Feature Film Jane Doe. The film has been described as a combination of “Requiem for a Dream meets Memento with some grungy Victoria Secret”. Ha. I have title role in the gig- I’m a heroin junkie with amnesia. Also release of Feature Film “Black Eve”.

Keef -Thanks for your time, your truly a bad ass female...

FAXEXPO WEEK, MY INTERVIEW WITH VINCE SUNICO of "Spent Pencils" comics.

A few years back I was heavily into screen printing and landed A apprenticeship at a screen printing shop. I did a little tour and one of the bosses said "Oh and you will be working with Vince" I looked over and I saw a muscular, tattooed, warrior looking guy... who instantly scared the crap out of me.
He ended up being one of the best guys I know, you cant help not liking Vince from the get go.
He is my favorite artist, I love his work and own several pieces he has done.
If your heading to fan expo be sure to stop at the SPENT PENCILS booth and say hello... they are true fans of the fans!!

Keef - When did you discover your gift and what made you pursure drawning comic books?

VINCE - I discoverd my little gift a very long time ago. The old spider-man cartoon was my all time favorite as a kid...I would draw spider-man all the time...at time I didnt know spider-man came was a comic book.
When I was about 6 years old my father took me to a store where they had comics, thats when I saw spider-man comics for the first time. I was abit confused because his custome had more webbing than the cartoon! It was also the first time I saw wolverine, right away I said "damn this guy looks awesome!"....from there i started to get into comicbooks.

Keef - Was there comics or animation that inspired you to pursue what your are doing up to today?

VINCE - Any superhero cartoon that came out I loved! Super friends, the mighty hercules, herculiods, space ghost, I can go on. The one that stood out most, more then anything was Grandizer.... one of the coolest designs ever, and still is! Even the story is really good, the idea that grandizer was built by aliens to conquer the universe but was stolen and is being used to protect it....I love it!

All these shows defintly steered me into drawing,if they where live action....they probably would not have the same impact on me....the idea of how these shows or comics are made, all drawn by someone...so as far back as I can remember, I knew this is what i want to do.....if i get paid to do it!...thats just a bonus!

Keef- What are some of the titles you are working on?

VINCE trying to work on my on my own titles, "The kid rumble" ,"The mighty ones" and the "Generals of gia."
but right now working on a few projects,
The dark legacy which will a 3 part graphic novel, qwixotic which will be a web comic and tales of the elder council which I did some charcter designs and then cover work.

Keef -You have a vast knowledge of the comic book world. Which one of your characters or teams could...

A- Be a big francise with toys, a TV show or movie

VINCE - I can see more of "The kid rumble", i believe the story is good, but even designs have the potienal....in this world it's a mix of comics,sci-fi and fantasy all in one.

b- Who could give some of the Top players like Spider-man or Superman a run for there money in a battle?

VINCE - If you are asking which one of my characters would give these guys a run for there money in a battle.....I'd probably choose "THE GENERALS OF GIA".....they are basically my version of the marvel and dc universe......my superman version is called Victory....he is more of a militan, powerful as superman, but smart as batman....in this world he brings order to a universe of choas.....so if u live in a world where majority are super power beings....the rest of the universe see's u as a threat!....so my charcaters are a abit more tougher, they are not PG 13!

KEEF -What are some commissioned work you have done, or working on?
VINCE - working on a sketch on a comic book where the cover is blank, also a 2 page of at least 30 villians of Marvel character's.....working on a UFC wallpaper art....
Keef -I have seen you in action drawing for your fans at fanexpo, free comic book day and events at Stadium comics. Did you ever get any strange requests?
VINCE - plenty!.....one thats stands out....Jesus riding on a robotic lion, while holding a medevil sword!

Keef- HAHAHAHA OH MY GOD THATS THE BEST! Do you have a favorite piece you have drawn?
VINCE -there a few, but one that stands out....is where I drew a 2 page commission of 30 DC villians...same guy asking for the Marvel villians piece. Just drawing alot of characters in one shot is a challenge because each one has its own personality. Its like taking a group picture of villains , how would they react to one another?
Keef -Are you looking forward to fanexpo 2010?
VINCE -absolutely!....it's the big one for Canada, gets bigger every year...it's alot of work getting there and being there, but overall...Hell of a lot of fun!
Keef- What is next for you, what are some projects you will be working on from now and into 2011?
VINCE - I have a few projects coming up, some comic covers...should be another dark legacy coming as well...plus the web comic. I am also working together with a good friend of mine....looking to put a comic application for the iPad.
so i sent to images.....ghost x ( wolverine as ghost rider ) and the amazon thunder ( wonder woman as the goddess of thunder )....i luv doin the mashups.....

KEEF - cool, thanks Vince for your time... looking forward to seeing you guys this Sunday! Would you like to give some thanks you's and some links?

As for links.....spent pencils....your blog!.....alvaro's site LOWRIDER SUPREME.........any links to my all time fav artist....Walter Simonson....artist of the mighty thor in the early 80's!
For thanks....a big thanks for all those who supported me and the SPC crew, a very big thank U to my family and close friends, the real mighty ones!.....the ones who stood by me,who never gave up on me!....

I think thats it!

I am looking forward to seeing Vince this weekend as well as the rest of the crew!
Please check out his links... good stuff, and he is available for commissions, just ask!
